Keeping track (He called the slaves and asked:'What did you do)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I've yet to rehang the door curtain, but otherwise all is well.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I made a big noise about doing so, but then I got distracted by pouring boiling water over my right hand. Twice. So I stayed up for first aid and ouch.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I didn't get up until close to mid-day.

What's the weather like? 'Warm' and wet. By warm, I mean about 4 Celsius, so the ice is thawing.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Red jumper and black trousers. I polished my boots. Yesterday I wore the full suit and Pol was appreciative.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO!

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! Out shovelling ice and meeting Peter and Phil, neighbours, and then out to Tesco for boot polish and bird food, and to McDonalds for food.

Did I cook? NO! I am reheating duck and pheasant soup, though.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! Very late.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I cleared about six square metres of inch-thick ice. Not much, but I can do more tomorrow.

Did I use my brain? NO! I didn't do my OU work, because breakfast was a needed interruption in lots of ice-shovelling.

Happy things: I met Peter, at number 85, and Phil, at number 87. I have Named Neighbours. Well, more of them.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol and tramadol last night, very late.

Did I have a migraine? NO! Not enough to bother me, anyway. I have one just beginning now.

Do I feel MEish? NO!

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, infected, bleeding and sore.

Did I sleep well? YES! Surprisingly well considering about a quarter of my hand is dark red with burns.

PLANS

Shovel ice.

Dry my washing.

Check freezer for food, decide what I am eating when and what more I might want to buy in.

OU work - I have a lot of catching up to do.

Possibly make more effort to get back to doing these posts. I've been getting lots done, which was the purpose of having them in the first place. I think they make a nice 'start of the evening' wind down, though.

Keeping track (They said: 'We flayed the wretch, then hanged him where)

Did I tidy my room? YES! It's a mess again, but it was tidy.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I think I went to sleep at 12am, after nipping out for a walk in the thick, heavy snow at 10pm BECAUSE I COULD. I played in the snow. I made a snow-mouse. I got in with a white coat which was black when I went out. It was glorious.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES! Go me.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! Moth woke me up every hour or so, so I slept until 11am.

What's the weather like? Wet. Despite last night's extra two inches of snow in an hour, today was quite warm and everything was thawing. My snow mouse is a puddle now. I had to clear the back path because the thaw had turned it into a slushy, slippery ice-sandwich.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I wore a new roll-neck red jumper, a grey check waistcoat and matching jacket, black trousers and black boots. This New Look I've designed for myself is warm.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I have been letting this slide of late, and suffering as a result.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! I went out and cleared the back path, and I went back and forth to the shed to get food.

Did I cook? YES! I finished off the duck soup, which is almost Mulled Duck, since there is port and various spices in there, like allspice and cinnamon and ginger. Tomorrow I'll add sweet potato and bacon to the remains. I also heated up some prawn in pastry.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I cleared a metre-wide path all the way to the back gate and brushed it so it was as dry as possible before the frost set in.

Did I use my brain? YES! I am back to my OU work as of this morning. I did one exercise. I am three weeks behind atm, so I need to work a little harder and more quickly to catch up.

Happy things: Food! Loads of food. SNOW! Proper real snowy snow. Hugging Pol lots and being vommish. Wearing nice clothes.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night. None since, since tomorrow is another boozy day.

Did I have a migraine? YES! I have one now.

Do I feel MEish? YES! Armpits are sore.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, infected and painful. Bleeding at times.

Did I sleep well? NO! I had an abysmal night, woken frequently by Moth, and, at one point, a slow and rumbling avalanche from the roof.

PLANS

Post cards to all the houses nearby.

Defrost smoked salmon platter.

Cook meat skewers.

Add bacon and sweet potato to the duck soup.

Roast three pheasants with bacon.

Eat. Drink. Be merry.

Solstice

The solstice was yesterday. I woke up feeling very bleh and not remotely celebratory. I had a duck to roast (actually, two) but not much to go with it and I wasn't sure I could be bothered to go out into the cold and snow to get more.

So Pol took me and Radnom to Bolton Market, where we all picked delicious noms for the next three days or so. Then Pol asked if he should/could invite people over, and I said yes, as long as he was prepared to do the host thing.

After that, I got cooking the duck, pausing now and then to attend to my bonfire-in-a-pot outside. Pol led the solstice service, despite being irreligious, because he'd just been to a celebration and could remember how the toasts worked. I toasted the sun, and Pol toasted the sun, and Random toasted the sun. The pot looked pretty good - a black iron cauldron on a white snowy wall, carrying warm yellow flames into the cold blue dusk, spreading wood smoke and sweet fumes of burnt mead and rosemary.

So I had a big roast duck dinner, with Random, then a buffet with Simon and ChrisC, Random, Pol and ppx. I hadn't met ppx before. She turned out to be lovely, although I think slightly overwhelmed.

I went with Pol to drop ppx off after the evening and defrosted in a hot bath before going to sleep at about 2am. I have woken up hungover but happy.

Thank you, Pol, Random, Simon, ChrisC and ppx for making winter solstice 2009 a special day.

Brief catch up post.

The reason I have not been posting much of late is because I have been busy. By the evening I am half asleep and by the next morning I've forgotten everything. So, a brief synopsis:

Drop in centre on Mondays. I am still going as often as I can and loving it. I sometimes stop for lunch and always end up having at least one nice conversation.

Community allotment, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Monday clashes with the drop-in and Saturdays with Pol, but I will be going when I can. I had one two-hour session there on Thursday, with freezing wind and snow hitting me in the teeth while I cut dead wood out of a living willow trellis and arch. And I loved it. It turned out that both the main workers there are Pratchett fans, which was rather a shock to all of us. :0)

Moth is looking quite sprightly again and is being a Herd of Cat up and down the stairs. She loves the place I've set up her heating pad - although it now looks as though she'll need a new one. I am just glad she's living long enough to need a new one! She is addicted to hard green catnip past squares, which she gets at my bedtime. So now she comes and gets me when it's my bedtime.

We have had snow! It was very pretty and very cold. Pol had an exciting drive home trying to miss the worst of it. I took a picture of our local landmark In Snow and sent it to my sister who showed it to my mum. Today, we started with graupel, then snow, then hail, then sleet, then thunder, lightning and rain. Now there's goodness knows, since it's too dark to tell.

We also had Lack of Heating. The boiler broke down while I was in the middle of a shower. It fixed itself briefly, or Pol fixed it, but then it broke down again while I was attempting shower mark two. It then stayed broken all weekend until shortly after I got home. Now the house is warm.

Socially, I met Simon and agreed to go to his game. He came over to do the chargen with me, and we had a nice evening, or I thought so. Random did appropriate background music, bless. I am looking forward to playing my new character.

Saintmary agreed to put me up on Friday night after arrangements for my lift to Peterscroft in the morning fell through. Not only that, but she and Stuart and Tim gave me Women in Egypt, a book I absolutely would have bought for myself. I love it. I had a nice time and Kevin's game nearly finished, but not quite. Then there was Party. I had a good chat with Diane about gardening and with ccooke about the Tom and Jerry Suicide cartoon. Just as I was wilting and feeling as though I'd really like to crawl home and nurse my headache, Random showed up, begging a shower. I went home with her, then sat up fretting about Pol. I was shown Sims of Geekhouse. There's a Sim Random, and a Sim me, and a Sim Pol, and a Sim Moth the cat, in a Sim Geekhouse. It was disturbing, but cool.

The drugs work beautifully, thank you.

After feeling increasingly crappy and migrainous over the last few days, I solved the problem last night by taking a measured dose of every single sort of painkiller I could find, including my 'emergencies only' codeine phosphate and the really-not-good-for-me aspirin.

Ye *gods*, I feel better today. I am about to go out and return a very overdue library book, and then, who knows? I have energy again and I can think straight and *everything* - and my mood has improved immensely.

What I don't feel is any urge to take moar drugs. Although I am considering Tramadoling up tonight as well, just to make sure things stay okay.

Keeping track (He hangs there now, my lord, head down and dead.')

Did I tidy my room? YES! It is beautifully tidy. Still.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! Unfortunately I got woken up and woken up and woken up and didn't actually get to sleep until about 2am, but I tried.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up after 10am.

What's the weather like? Sunny for at least part of the day, when I looked out and admired the view from Pol's new room.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I am wearing my 80's batwing jumper. I want more jumpers like this.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I haven't done enough, really.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! I am absolutely counting my trip to the shed with Pol and Random to clear out the freezer and redivide up the shelves.

Did I cook? YES! I made porridge with cinnamon, dates, raisins and dried mango. I also reheated yesterday's lamb-in-red-wine.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I danced about a bit and played with the cat. I cleaned the kitchen and emptied the kitchen bins, all three of them. I emptied the dishwasher.

Did I use my brain? YES! Very briefly, but I did at least try to pick up the hieroglyphs again. I'll go back to it in a more concentrated way once Y160 is done.

Happy things: Feesh! Random's new fish are pretty. Moth was trying to do science with Random (who was testing the tanks' water). I watched the Myleene Klass and John Barrowman edition of Children in Need 80 Days Around the World and got many good laughs out of it. I won a game of online Monopoly.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night and this morning. Tramadol last night.

Did I have a migraine? YES! A really nasty one all day. I think it's because I haven't been relaxing as I should.

Do I feel MEish? YES! Distinctly not well.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy and infected again. Sore.

Did I sleep well? NO! I kept waking up.

PLANS

Make an appointment to see the vet with Moth on Wednesday.

Drop in centre.

Take that overdue library book back!

Keeping track ((He there and then made each one of them a lord,)

Did I tidy my room? YES! My room is now very tidy indeed. It's rather lovely.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I wanted to be up early today for the move.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? YES! It was more of a dawn stick-my-head-out-of-the-door because of the driving rain and the wind, but the thought was there.

What's the weather like? Wet and windy, all day.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I put on the spoons necklace, as a sort of charm for helping Sessifet move furniture. It seemed to work.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I shall do extra time tonight.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! To Irlam and to Bolton proper and to Bollington, all in the cause of moving Sessifet out of this house and into her new and rather nice flat.

Did I cook? YES! I had porridge with mango and cinnamon for breakfast and I am doing sausages right now as I type.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I helped move a lot of boxes of books, a bed, an armchair and other things around.

Did I use my brain? YES! I am assembling my notes for my TMA, after which I shall assemble an argument and get the entire thing typed out, probably on Tuesday.

Happy things: I have a row of five candles all lit and sausages in the oven. I had a nice sandwich for lunch. I saw BarryR and hugged him and watched a video. Pol has New Furniture he seems happy with.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night. None today! Yesterday was just a bad, bad day.

Did I have a migraine? YES! It was a bit of a pain when I was trying to carry something in and everything was sparkly yellow and I kept bumping into walls, but otherwise it was just... there.

Do I feel MEish? YES! I feel glandy. However, I've felt like this after every day of gardening, and as long as I have a rest at about 6pm I am fine. I'll nap after the sausages.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, not too bad.

Did I sleep well? YES! Out solid for many hours, woke up early feeling pretty good.

PLANS

Sausages!

Moth to vet.

Request more oils to replace ones lost in the post.

Nap.

Religious study.

Take back overdue library book and pay fine.

Keeping track ('Let him hang there,' he cried 'till late tonight - )

Did I tidy my room? YES! It has less laundry in it and a new Seasonal Display.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I stayed up late playing Monopoly and I am regretting it now.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! It's been a long while. On the other hand, I don't feel depressed.

What's the weather like? Freezing morning, turning into wet and windy at night. Yay.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I love having clean clothes again. One more wash, and I can have clean towels as well.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I talked to Pol instead.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! To the supermarket for food. Since I got back from my mum's, it's been a bit rebuild-your-life, trying to get things back together again.

Did I cook? YES! Chicken kievs, new potatoes and peas.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! I even managed to sort out getting some more.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I played with this elastic strength-building spoingy thing I have, and with the cat. I went shopping and I did laundry. I emptied the kitchen bin and the cat tray and brought a bin back. I did the pots and wiped the sides and cooker.

Did I use my brain? YES! I have got pretty much all I have to have for question one, it's just a matter of writing it out. I have question 2 well in hand.

Happy things: I cleaned out my jar of shiny things, which has jewellery, beads, small decorations, shells, stones and various other junk in it, and added yet more pretty rammel.`Eventually it will take the place of a button-box for entertaining my nibling(s). After three years put putting things in, it's halfway full.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol all day.

Did I have a migraine? YES! All day, I had a foul one. I forgot last night's tramadol. Oops.

Do I feel MEish? YES! A little.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, not too bad.

Did I sleep well? YES! Once I got to sleep, I was out. I woke up early.

PLANS

Make Moth a vet appointment.

Work out who I have to buy presents for this month.

Sort out my paperwork.

More TMA1.

Keeping track (But when his people heard the tale, they felt)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I put the empty suitcase away. It's now full of piles of neatly folded dirty laundry so I will remember to wash it because it is in sight. I will do this until it's all gone, if I can. In reality, I'll probably get two or three loads done.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! We were out late meeting new people, both very very lovely.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up at 9am when the alarm went off.

What's the weather like? Cold and wet and windy.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Not very well matched ones, on account of my having worn everything I own, just about.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! Brief, but yes, I did it.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! To the drop-in, for long enough to have met other people and had a chat.

Did I cook? YES! Fried fish fingers and baked beans.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? NO! I forgot, because I had my breakfast downstairs.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I walked to the drop in. I did laundry and folded all of my dirty clothes, in an effort to sort out whole outfits to wash so I can wear clothes *all over* if I want to. I cleaned the kitchen and did the pots and emptied the cat tray and so on.
I've spent the last two weeks doing very heavy digging and clearing work on my mum's garden, so it's been a bit weird to be back to my sedentary life again. Apparently, I am almost entirely unmotivated to do anything energetic if people don't tell me they like me doing it... There's a mental quirk I have to work through.

Did I use my brain? YES! I turned my THIS IS A WHOLE ENTIRE TMA YOU HAVE TO DO into a series of individual steps I *can* do and know how to do, so I can hand in a decently written assignment to my OU tutor for marking. I went through every thing they were asking for and made sure I knew how to write something to get the marks for, for example, 'proper academic style' and 'use of relevant words and phrases', so I can put in the things that will get me marks and leave out the things which, while fun to discuss, don't improve my grade.

Happy things: I feel really up about this course. Pol's rather lovely. I watched Lie To Me and enjoyed both episodes, although the episode before the last one rather more than the last one, which was stretching the boundaries of suspension of disbelief.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night. Tonight's a tramadol night, I hope I don't forget.

Did I have a migraine? YES! I have one now, but then I've had to apply my brain *and* be social rather a lot today.

Do I feel MEish? YES! I do.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy. They're back to being bad again.

Did I sleep well? YES! Eyes closed and then the alarm went off.

PLANS

Hug Pol. Lots.

OU Tutor Marked Assignment part 1 b)

Get my prescription sorted for pills.

Find out what presents I need to buy and/or send people for December

Find out where my mum's perfume oils got to.

Get food in, because I am now almost down to a) dried fruit and b) porridge.

One cup of disappointment, hot.

So, I came home after two weeks. The house is a shit hole; the kitchen bins are both full and there's rubbish on the kitchen sides. The dishwasher is full, but the pots in it are dirty. There is another load of dirty pots on the side. The fridge is packed full, including out of date food. There are no clean small plates. The whole place looks neglected, like it's all being left for someone else to deal with and that someone else hasn't been there yet.

Most of the problem seems to be down to two single jobs not being done, both of which are very, very simple: emptying the kitchen bins when they are full and replacing the bags, which takes one minute in total. Running the dishwasher, which takes about ten seconds. Not doing those two quick jobs leaves a mess which is going to take an hour to clean up. Both these jobs should really be done every day.

I don't honestly know whether to hide in my room all day, to rest and recover from yesterday (which was twenty-two hours long and involved a shopping run around town, some heavy gardening and a trip from Nottingham to Bolton via Woodhead) or go down and clean it all up so I can feel at home while I catch up with missed television.

The living room is full of boxes, but somehow I expected that.

Keeping track (They came to stare, but none could recognize)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I put everything away tidily and the fact that I am now sprawled on the floor on the duvet which should be folded and on top of my suitcase, is neither here nor there.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I was asleep by 11pm. If I had a choice, I'd be going to bed at 6pm! I am so utterly tired most evenings, it's amazing - I haven't been overdoing it, but I am at my limit.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES! They're the main reason I am upright.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I did wake up just before dawn, and I *thought* about it, but mostly I thought nah... I am not down atm, not at all.

What's the weather like? Cold and windy. It's making it a pain to transplant twelve-foot-high leafy plants, I'll tell you that.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Sort of. They were gardening clothes. But then I got changed into good clothes when I finished for the day.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I forgot all about it, eager to get out and garden.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! The garden counts. It was Outside. Yesterday, I went to visit cwol and it was good.

Did I cook? NO! I have a hot meal cooked for me *every day*. It's amazing. I am being properly appreciative. It makes a massive difference to my physical health, too.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I transplanted several shrubberies and cleared more garden. I washed up. I cut up a cardboard box for recycling. I dug soil and picked up litter. I built a tiny, tiny garden wall.

Did I use my brain? YES! I did half an OU activity (which amounts to 'collate your notes and write a TMA-style mini-essay, I did the collate-your-notes part before I ran out of brane) and paid attention during the tutorial. In the evening, I found four jobs for my mum to apply for, and she is *not* an easy placement, due to health issues, no computer skills, no car and dyscalculia.

Happy things: My sister noticed what I'd done when she came home. My mum seems very pleased with all I am doing. Hot meals! Also read out an article by davywavy off my friendslist which was well received, about rock star contract riders.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Tramadol last night, cocodamol last night. Yesterday was being social - I walked a long way, twice - and I didn't need painkillers this morning, so the garden work is apparently leaving me a bit wrecked.

Did I have a migraine? Not noticeably. Even now, I have little pain.

Do I feel MEish? NO! I have proper post exercise pain, and it's *sore* but not ME like.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, not too bad.

Did I sleep well? Out cold.

PLANS

Gardening!

Move more shrubbery (it's a very slow process since it's basically lots of straight canes sticking out of a spread network of woody roots up to an inch wide).

Tie back shrubbery.

OU essay thingy.

Keeping track (They saw the beaten, blood-stained flesh but kept)

I'm staying at my mother's and I don't have access to my book, so no depressing poetry for a while. :0)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I am sleeping in the living room, on a camp bed and I tidied it all away. I also cleared up after the gardening I did.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I had a nap at 6pm and then wanted to go to bed, but Children in Need was on and my sister's working late, so everyone was up until midnight watching television.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES! I've been very good about these of late.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up at full light.

What's the weather like? Cold, windy and wet.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? NO! I got dressed in gardening clothes, since I was going to be gardening all day. I am still wearing them, but I plan to have a bath soon.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! My mum is not impressed with my favourite relaxation video.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! I've decided that the garden counts as 'out' when I am out in it for hours. I've been out a lot this week, first coming to Nottingham, then going around town shopping, and visiting my middle sister and niece.

Did I cook? NO! I've been waited on hand and foot! Apparently they *really wanted* this garden makeover I am doing. Oh, wait, I did porridge for breakfast, that counts, yes?

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! Indeedy. I cleared more nettles and overgrowth. I collapsed a chest of drawers FULL OF GREAT BIG SPIDERS THAT WERE LARGE and bagged it (after suitable pauses and attacking it with a brush). I made a cane fence to put up tomorrow, all tied with string. I picked up litter.

Did I use my brain? YES! I learned about the history of Senegal because it was on my mind.

Happy things: I love my family and they love me; they've apparently been saying how nice it was to have me down. I am sure not all of it is down to the gardening I am doing. I also helped my mum with some job-search related stuff that was bothering her. The garden looks markedly different to this morning. I am going to have a bath.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night and this morning.

Did I have a migraine? YES! It was bothering me very much this morning and making the gardening absolutely miserable. Hence, drugs.

Do I feel MEish? YES! I got slightly wobbly legged. I've been crashing utterly at 6pm, sleeping until 8pm and then sleeping from 10pm-7am most nights, and I seem to be fine. Most of my pain is actually stiff muscles (not ME) rather than fluey aches (ME).

How are my sinuses? Cruddy but not too bad.

Did I sleep well? YES! Once I got off to sleep, I was dead to the world.

PLANS

More gardening:

Clear the chipboard along the back fence.
Fasten the fence I made in place and add more to it.
Clear a bit more litter and undergrowth.
Dig a trench and start transplanting the hedge.

Help my mum with job-related matters.

Keeping track (All day the city mourned with smothered cries,)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I've done quite well at this, of late.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I stayed up late, watching Stargate Universe with Pol, and it was good.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up at about 11am when Pol came into my room to spend time with me. It was a deeply lovely way to wake up. :0)

What's the weather like? Cool and damp.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Even down to the jingly necklace.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I more sort of did snuggle before breakfast, for the same effect.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! Pol and I went out to sort out the dry cleaning, try to find a 4 season sleeping bag, buy Moth enough catnip to keep her tripping for a month and have a McDonald's together.

Did I cook? NO! I ate pretty much entirely junk food all day.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I ended up running up and down stairs many times with a flash drive so I could copy things that were getting lost on the wireless. I also emptied the dishwasher and took rubbish out.

Did I use my brain? NO! I was supposed to study hieroglyphs but the snuggles got in the way. Je ne regrette rien.

Happy things: snuggles! Watching the pilot episode of Lie to Me and finding out it was actually pretty good. Spending the day with Pol.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol last night.

Did I have a migraine? YES! I had one last night, brought on by in-depth discussions but tbh pretty well worth it. I've managed to avoid getting one too badly today.

Do I feel MEish? NO!

How are my sinuses? A bit cruddy but not bad at all.

Did I sleep well? YES! I slept exceptionally well, apart from a brief cat-caused wakening.

PLANS

Try to stick to the daily routine.

BAND drop in.

Menu planning for the next week.

Budget sorting.

Make appointment with GP.

Keeping track (A few days passed; the king's rage vanished too,)

I'm finally back to thinking straight in the evenings... Time to get back to posting these, then.

Did I tidy my room? YES! I've been sorting out (and trying to Freegle) books, and I've finally put away all the calligraphy books I bought in August. I have a row of Reader's Digest magazines I kept as a source of images, and I am tearing them apart to take said images, which will go in an old makeup box which I had thought I might use to keep snails in. That will leave room for more books. I am getting rid of books I actually enjoy, but where I've more or less memorised the contents, to make room for new books I can enjoy; I realised that keeping the old books was stopping me reading new ones.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I then didn't sleep well, if at all, and ended up getting up at 2am and eating cereal, then sleeping until about 1pm this afternoon. But... I tried.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO!

What's the weather like? Misty and moist, cool and damp and occasionally raining quite hard.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Sessifet complimented me when she got home, which pretty much made my evening. :0)

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES!

Did I go out somewhere else too? NO! I've been more or less stuck in the house all day, too low on energy to actually go anywhere, but able to tidy.

Did I cook? NO! I had frikadellen and apple for breakfast, nothing since. I have little appetite.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I emptied the cat tray and the kitchen bin and the recycling bin, and the dishwasher. I wiped all the sides. I moved books around my room. I played with the cat.

Did I use my brain? YES! I learned about Sun and Moon, and their father Vidfinn, and Sun's husband Glen, and the horses Arvak and Alsvid and the wolves Skoll and Hati.

Happy things: I am back to my daily routine and it feels goooood, after days of pretty much doing my OU work and going back to bed exhausted.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Tramadol last night, as routine. Nothing else.

Did I have a migraine? YES! I have one setting in just now, and it's probably because I haven't eaten.

Do I feel MEish? YES! Not as ill as I have been, but a bit sore.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy.

Did I sleep well? NO! I had insomnia, then a late sleep with many interruptions and vivid dreams.

PLANS

Clean out the fridge.

More book sorting.

Dump heavy rubbish in paper recycling.

Book train to Nottingham!

Best. Cards. Ever.

I've not been posting because I am very, very tired and quite ill.

However, I want to mention the fact that Aldi are currently selling BAH HUMBUG! cards, with glitter on and everything. I get the feeling they'll all be sold quite quickly. I got Pol a packet. :0)

Keeping track (Love made him weak; this lion-hearted king)

Did I tidy my room? YES! It's still cluttered but I'll keep working on it. I have a bunch of books and other freegle-rejects to bin.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! Well, a lot closer to on time than in previous days.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? YES! I woke up in time and had a stroll around the houses.

What's the weather like? Warm, very warm for the time of year, about 15C. Cloudy with blue patches.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I then realised I was utterly out of lots of other clothes, so they're in the wash now.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I more sort of closed my eyes and zedded for another six hours.

Did I go out somewhere else too? NO!

Did I cook? YES! I had roast belly pork with ratatouille and kale mash. The pork was coated in apple-and-garlic chutney while roasting. The ratatouille was various chopped vegetables plus herbs, that I made myself from scratch. I found out I quite like myrtle.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! Most of the way through the antibiotic course now.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I played with a sort of giant rubber band affair which I thought might let me do a bit of strength training without getting my heart rate too high (if I even stand up, it's already too high) and it seemed to work.

Did I use my brain? NO! I took the day off from study because my brain was a complete blank.

Happy things: Delicious food. I have some snails in water and I am going to try to breed a new variety of pest snail, for fun.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? NO! Not a one! Not last night, not today.

Did I have a migraine? YES! But a mild one, eye being crushed but I was able to live with it.

Do I feel MEish? NO! Not very.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy and sore. No sign that the antibiotics are doing much to anything except my digestive systems.

Did I sleep well? NO! I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep, then woke up early and went out, came back and slept with lots of dreams and woke up soaking wet with sweat.

PLANS

Hieroglyphs.

Persuading Pol that the thing he wants to do most in the whole world is to wrestle with a pogo-pole so I can have a set of shower shelves.

Keeping track (Then he remembered how they used to sit)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I've yet to put my clean black clothes away, but it's cleared of rubbish.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I settled down towards bed but stayed chatting on the computer and... the usual story.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? NO!

What's the weather like? Windier than yesterday, but not bad at all until just earlier when it rained hard and suddenly.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES!

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! Properly.

Did I go out somewhere else too? NO! I've not been out of the house all day.

Did I cook? YES! I fried a skate 'ray wings' to see what it was like. It was pretty nice.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! Eventually.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I loaded the dishwasher, cleaned the hob and cleaned out the oven and relined the bottom tray with foil. I wiped the sides and chased Moth about. I probably did something else too.

Did I use my brain? YES! I wasn't very focussed but I applied myself to learning. I learned that doing an assigned task is way easier than assigning a task to do.

Happy things: Pol and I sat and had a real chat. Feesh!

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Tramadol last night, a day ahead of schedule but worth doing.

Did I have a migraine? Oh yes indeedy. My head was wiped out last night and for chunks of today. The migraine-confusion is being aided by the depression-slowness, leading to it taking me half an hour to make a cup of coffee sometimes.

Do I feel MEish? YES! My glands are horribly up.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy and sore.

Did I sleep well? YES! Rock solid out until my alarm went off at 9am.

PLANS

Work out sunrise times for the week ahead.

One load of laundry.

Get dishwasher tablets or cause them to be got.

Keeping track (Drinking their wine in homely privacy,)

Did I tidy my room? YES! A bit. And then I got Stuff and untidied it again.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I stayed up late reading, unable to settle down or switch off, for ages.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? NO! I forgot.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO!

What's the weather like? Warm and sunny. It's a bit weird, to be honest.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! Same clothes as yesterday but they're nice.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! I did!

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! To the supermarket where there were many exotic fish and now I have a big lump of skate (the fish) to cook.

Did I cook? Not yet. I threw out yesterday's dead moussaka. It was truly awful.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! Just as well since my antibiotics are with them.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I tried to put together and fit a new shower stand, but it's too hard for me to squeeze it down to the right height. I wrestled with that for a long time. I also emptied the cat tray (and had a Green Poo scare until I realised I'd fed Moth dark green catnip treats). I walked around and around and around the supermarket.

Did I use my brain? YES! I did my OU stuff.

Happy things: I have Super Malt drink and cheesecake and feeesh. I realised today just how much Carol means to me and how much I love her. I am starting to grok an aspect of my religious studies.

Sad thing: Carol has lost her father and it's like when I lost my grandmother only squared and then multiplied further, i.e. much, much messier and worse. I feel awful for her. I'd feel wrong blithely going through recording my day and not recording this, since Carol is pretty much family.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? NO! I just somehow never got around to it, not even last night. However, this may be an aspect of depression rather than lack of pain.

Did I have a migraine? I can't remember. I don't have much of one now, but what there is is in my right eye, so it is either going away or settling in.

Do I feel MEish? YES! My neck glands are swollen. I still seem to be able to do things though.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, swollen, blocked and sore.

Did I sleep well? NO! I had a night absolutely chock a block with bad dream after bad dream, really awful ones. I also got woken up by Moth at least three times.

PLANS

Religious studies. Yay Friday!

Finding out whether I can go to the Winter Blot or not.

Booking a train to Nottingham

Horwich Art Society at 7pm

Antifleaing the cat.

Keeping track (He could not bear the thought; he felt tears rise)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I took out lots of too-tatty-to-sell books (and one or two probably good to sell but I am *tired* books) and put them in the paper recycling.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I was very good.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES! I'm remembering them again.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up at about 7:30am.

What's the weather like? Sunny and warm - this morning there was a golden mist wreathing the hills, and then it stayed sunny and mild nearly all day. I think there was a shower.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I am 80s batwing jumper today.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES!

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! To the supermarket to get milk and bread.

Did I cook? YES! I made a moussaka to a fancy do-it-in-stages recipe and it failed horribly. It's a total disaster. It is more or less cheese soup. Next time, I am just going to build the thing in the casserole (other than the cheese sauce) and let it take its chances. And cook it at a lower heat.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! Cooking, with maximum faff, going shopping, laundry. I washed some things by hand and I unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. I cleaned the cooker hob, twice, and wiped all the sides. I emptied the kitchen bin twice. I carried lots of books to the bin.

Did I use my brain? YES! I did my OU homework. I discovered that a poem which is delightful when spoken can be lboody irritating when read. You can only get away with avoiding the shift key if you're e.e. cummings.

Happy things: Azekeil has been fun company, as has Sessifet. Rmando showed off her shiny new fitted wheels. The house has been cleaned. Pol's not in Romania.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Tramadol last night, cocodamol last night.

Did I have a migraine? YES! Last night I did, and all day today I had one making me snappy and very hard of thinking.

Do I feel MEish? YES! I feel achey and a bit shivery and fluey, and I am getting tired very easily.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy and bleeding. First day of doxycycline course to fix them.

Did I sleep well? YES! I did wake up very suddenly to a banged door, but I slept well before then and it wasn't that early.

PLANS

Paperwork and OU stuff.

Making an appointment with Relate.

Reading new! shiny! books! I've already read _Silks_ by Dick Francis and _Jupiter Williams_ by S.I. Martin. Next will either be _Shadow Touch_ by Marjorie M. Liu, _Acacia_ by David Anthony Durham or _The Painter of Signs_ by R.K. Narayan. The latter book is, I am told, a nice, fun light read that somehow ended up dressed up by the establishment as Literature.

Keeping track (Regret consumed him; reason, patience fled,)

Did I tidy my room? YES! Tonight I hope to make my bed. Last night I picked up rubbish and so on.

Did I go to bed early last night? NO! I went to bed at about 2am after fun times a) having visitors over and b) watching people watching Question Time.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? NO! I found it still in my pillbox this morning. Oops.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I wasn't awake until after 12pm!

What's the weather like? Bright and sunny earlier, grey now.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? NO! I did get dressed though.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? NO! I forgot.

Did I go out somewhere else too? NO! I've been in the house all day.

Did I cook? YES! I used this recipe for courgette fritters and had them with wild boar and venison sausages. I will do this again.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I cooked, lots of standing up, and I also emptied the bin, wiped the sides and microwave, swept the kitchen floor and, last night, I danced to music.

Did I use my brain? YES! After several weeks, I am only just getting to the end of the creation of the world. I learn slowly.

Happy things: Nice food. Moth's renal food has arrived and she likes it, which is a relief. I'm happy to be keeping to my daily/weekly routine as well as I am doing.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! I had cocodamol before I went to bed.

Did I have a migraine? YES! It's a stress-induced migraine and is about 3/4 tension headache and 1/4 left eye being crushed.

Do I feel MEish? YES! My neck glands are up.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, infected, bleeding and sore. I will see the GP about this as soon as I can make a ruddy 8:30am phone call, since even washing only gives temporary respite.

Did I sleep well? YES! I think so. I had dreams, but only towards the waking up don't-wanna-get-up stage.

PLANS

Book trains etc (still not done)

Defrost venison so it can be cooked with cream and mushrooms

If awake early enough, post card at post office

Library?

Daily post, the short version.

I've just waved good night to Angela, Rob and Claire after a lovely evening, playing the Zombies boardgame while watching Sean of the Dead (Rob for the first time). Great fun. Now I am on irc reading people watching Question Time and Nick Griffon getting, by all accounts, utterly pwned.

I had a bad day healthwise, did my OU homework and didn't get out to post a letter, but I did call my MIL and have a nice chat. Porridge for breakfast, avocado for lunch, kebab for dinner. Migraine was appalling but lifted in time for me to enjoy visitors.

Please let me show you a photoessay about women farmers from all over the world. Bossymarmalade of Dreamwidth fame linked me to them, I think (If I am crediting the wrong person, let me know and please forgive me). I spent about twenty minutes utterly absorbed in this page yesterday. As Labrat pointed out, they are awesome images of women.

Keeping track (He dressed in mourning; neither ate nor slept,)

Did I tidy my room? YES! One of the things newly added to my routine is time to sit and sort through things like bills, letters, forms and so on which were turning into paper pile of doom. I do it on Wednesdays when the cleaner is here and I am just sitting quietly in my room anyway, and Thursdays just because. I have a 9 month backlog of can't-deal-with-that-now. I also have, now, a largish pile of ancient bank statements sitting by the loo, so I can shred a statement by hand and put it in the bathroom bin... now and then.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I was so good!

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? NO! Apparently I forgot to.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up late, when my 8:30am alarm went off (if I am asleep, it wakes me up, if I am awake, it prompts me to phone the GP to make an appointment).

What's the weather like? Cool and damp.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I was actually showered and dressed before the cleaner arrived, for the first time ever.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! With the video. I seem to need to revisit it to learn how to relax, otherwise my relaxation sessions get shorter and shorter.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! All of us at Geekhouse North went out to the local Sainsbury's on a beer run.

Did I cook? YES! I fried lamb, onion, celery, apple and garlic in about that order, then added cinnamon and urfa pepper and a shedload of raisins, then mushroom ketchup and a bit of mustard and more garlic. Then I put it all in the oven with goats cheese on top until the goats cheese melted. It worked. I managed to balance the salt and the sweet and the bitter and the savoury and everything. Next time, I would probably drain the mix briefly before the cheese and baking part, it was slightly fatty.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! Today's breakfast was porridge with dried apricots and cinnamon.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I cleaned the cooker before bedtime. Today, I loaded the dishwasher and washed all yesterday's pans by hand, emptied all the recycling, rearranged the heavy crates of pop bottles and pop, went up and down stairs lots and walked to Sainsbury's and back. I cleaned the sink and wiped all the sides. I emptied the dishwasher and put the pots away, and lots off the sink top, and another half load this afternoon. I did a load of laundry.

Did I use my brain? YES! I listened to a song and wrote about it. I went through all my papers, filled out a form and put it in a stamped addressed envelope ready for posting, and likewise addressed and stamped a card for my BIL/SIL (! My timing stinks.). (I know that doesn't sound like brainwork, but it's all stuff I find incredibly hard to do.). I sorted out Moth's renal-failure-specific catfood.

Happy things: I got through my whole morning routine without anybody telling me I was doing something wrong and should stop. Group outing!

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Cocodamol in the morning.

Did I have a migraine? YES! I had a stinker after going through all my papers.

Do I feel MEish? YES! My neck glands are up fiercely.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy, sore and bleeding.

Did I sleep well? NO! Moth kept waking me up.

PLANS

Make an appointment with the GP, at long last.

OU study.

Sort through some more papers.

Book a train to Nottingham, on open return, for the 5th November. Sort out accommodation for visit.

Cook venison in a reduced cream and mushroom sauce. It's not reindeer and I'll be having spinach rather than cloudberries, but it'll still be delicious.

Keeping track (Night came; he drove off that still-gaping crowd)

Did I tidy my room? NO! Not really. It is a mess!

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I was very good about it, while thinking the whole time, 'DON'T WANNA!'

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do my dawn walk? YES! It was a mizzly morning and no fun at all, but I walked a P-shaped route while thinking about joy.

What's the weather like? Mizzly. Just wet enough to get into everything. Not too cold, but the wind was having periods of laziness.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! I put on the spoons necklace.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! I made myself when I realised that the idea was making me horribly reluctant to lie down long enough even to let the painkillers fizz. It ended up being like having a warm bath, in terms of soothe. The paramol knocked the migraine on the head.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! First out shopping as planned, to get a week's worth of meat and vegetables. Then out again with Random for fun and malt beer.

Did I cook? YES! Hake, a selection of mushrooms, leek and sweetcorn, in a white sauce flavoured with a bouquet garni (I heated the milk up in the microwave with the herbs in it, before I made the sauce).

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES! For some reason, having porridge for breakfast makes it easier to remember to take pills than, say, coco pops.

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I forgot things a lot, so I went up and down and up and down stairs. I walked lots while shopping and carried things about. I cooked, emptied the kitchen bin and played with the cat.

Did I use my brain? YES! I did an OU activity and my study diary.

Happy things: I am having one of those rare patches of days where all my routines work and I feel really good about what I am doing. It was also fun to go out with Random, she makes really insightful observations about things.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Paramol after breakfast. Possibly cocodamol last night as well but I don't remember.

Did I have a migraine? YES! Definitely this afternoon I did, and now.

Do I feel MEish? NO! Not really at all. It's all headache that's bothering me now.

How are my sinuses? Swollen and bleeding and infected. No fun.

Did I sleep well? YES! I woke up feeling utterly horrible after what sounded like several doors opening and closing.

PLANS

OU stuff

Sorting through my pile of paper

Booking a train to Nottingham on the 5th and back on the 8th or so.

Making an appointment with Relate

Cooking some sort of cheese/celery/raisin/lamb thing

Friends are coming over to play games

Keeping track (By lonely grief, told over one by one)

Did I tidy my room? YES! I picked up all the newspaper. I have too many things in this room and need to get rid of them, harder when many of them are junk books (too bad condition to pass on) and the recycling team are not picking up. I need to get rid of books so I can make room on the shelves for those I want to keep.

Did I go to bed early last night? YES! I did! I was entirely virtuous.

Did I take my nighttime anti-migraine pills? NO! I thought I had, but my pill box says no.

Did I do my dawn walk? NO! I woke up very late.

What's the weather like? Cool and grey. It's definitely no longer summer.

Did I wash and get dressed in nice clothes? YES! The same clothes as yesterday, since they were all still clean.

Did I do relaxation after breakfast? YES! Not very well though.

Did I go out somewhere else too? YES! I went to the drop-in and chatted and made a card - an appliqué felt brown leave on a brown linen and gingham background, ideal to send to BIL/SIL on their anniversary on the 26th. I enjoyed myself lots.

Did I cook? YES! I made the pumpkin soup, although the pumpkin caught, so while it still tastes good, it's a horrible brown instead of a bright festive orange. I made a breakfast of bacon and toast, since one of the first things I did this morning was fry the smoked streaky bacon to crispy point, ready to cut up and put in the soup later. The soup was a masterpiece of timing and planning, other than the catching-and-staining-all-the-liquid-brown thing.

Did I take my post-breakfast anti-migraine pills? YES!

Did I do anything energetic? YES! I did cooking and washed everything as I went, so lots of standing up. I walked to the resource centre and back.

Did I use my brain? YES! I did my assigned tasks for OU. I made a card, and when I realised I'd gone wrong, altered the pattern to look good and purposeful.

Happy things: Sessifet has a new car! (Even though the reason she has it is very upsetting, she seems very pleased to have this new one.) I made something! The soup tasted good. I enjoy going through Betterware catalogues, I really do. I like having a proper warm full-length coat, very much. Moth is very cute when she is gambolling about trying to kill a toy. I am reading _Penelope's Experiences in Scotland_, written in 1898, this edition printed in 1902. It is witty and fun and the narration, in places, feels very up-to-date. It is a surprising and lovely find, and my 'old books I like reading' shelf is one I actually have space on.

HEALTH

Did I take painkillers? YES! Tramadol last night, scheduled. Cocodamol last night.

Did I have a migraine? YES! One last night and one today. The one today is a sickening headache, a sort of queasiness of the eye. There's pain there too, but the tramadol is masking it.

Do I feel MEish? YES! I feel achey in all my lymph nodes. When I finished doing the card, I couldn't stop my hands shaking. It was like having a panic attack, but without feeling at all scared; just the physical reactions.

How are my sinuses? Cruddy and very sore.

Did I sleep well? YES! I think so. I apparently slept through some ruffians trashing Sessifet's car door. I had a lot of trouble waking up and getting moving, which I put down to the tramadol.

PLANS

Shopping. I might have fish instead of chicken in the leek thing.

Cooking white-meat-in-a-white-sauce.

Library - ordering books I can't get new, and finding that ever-elusive Something To Read. Returning the David Tennant biography because it's a bit pants.

Returning borrowed books to Random and Sessifet. The amount of not-mine books in here is creeping up, and I've read them all or am never going to.
